This stereo consists of a black box that contains the amplifier, AM/FM receiver, hard drive, etc. and a separate surface mount waterproof controller. Black box can be mounted out of the way of weather.
This unit does not have it's own built in CD Player, however you can connect your MP3 player or flash drive via the USB port. The unit will control the MP3 player (song selection, etc.) and recharge it when connected, or you can simply download all your songs to the built in flash drive from your MP3 player, and just listen to them from there. You can also connect your iPod and control and recharge it. (requires I-Plug830 interface cable sold separately)

Unit fuctions beyond expectations. The only issues are that use of the MC 19 controller is not intuitive (keep printed instructions near by) and the unit requires amplification (don't believe the 180 watt spec)
