This unit does not have a CD player! Instead, the faceplate flips down to reveal a protected storage area and dock for your iPod. iPods are recharged and controlled while inside the stereo.
The stereo is 2 zone capable which means volume and audio source can be controlled independently in 2 different areas. For example, listen to FM radio on deck while others listen to iPod in the cabin. The built in amplifier will power up to 8 speakers (4 in each zone).
The IP-3B controls your iPod with full navigation of all menus and is equipped with 2 auxiliary inputs for other MP3 players as well. The 4 X 50 watt amplifier delivers power to spare. The IP66 rating ensures protection against water, dust salt/fog and UV. Unlike other re-purposed car stereos that oxidize in moist environments, the IP-3B has a ZAM-coated Steel Chassis to protect from corrosion. The conformal-coated circuit boards also have silicone added in critical areas to protect them from moisture. The mechanism meets commercial grade specifications of -20 deg. C to 70 deg. C. (most other third-party units only meet -10 deg. C to 60 C degrees.) The player features an LCD Dot Matrix display with 2-stage dimmer control, RCA inputs and 4-volt outputs. This unit includes a DSP (Digital Sound Processor) as well as sub-woofer output control. AQ-IP-3B is equipped with two 12-volt triggers on/off and four 5-volt triggers that are momentary and the FM tuner has USA/Euro switchable frequency.
